Use Wind Energy to Run Your Home Appliances

Powering your home appliances with wind energy is a step toward running your house off of the urban grid. There are several different wind energy generators available that can help you achieve this goal, and many of them are at a reasonable price.

So what should you look for in a home wind generator? Well, first you want to figure out how much of your energy usage you want supplied through wind energy. If you just want to power your electronics and appliances or use the energy as a backup in case of an emergency, you’re going to require a lower watt wind generator. Something in the range of 400 watts or 27 amps should be enough to at least power your home appliances and electronics.

The second thing you want to consider is how loud the device will be. Even though wind turbines can be loud, you don’t want to have noise pollution near your living space. Fortunately, there are designs that minimize the wind noise such as carbon fiber composite blades.

Of course, you will also want to compare prices. For minimal wind power to supply to electronics and appliances, the appropriate wind generators range from $500 to $600. Although this will be a high price to pay initially, it will save you more money on electricity in the long run. So it’s important to think about the future savings in addition to the initial startup costs to buy your wind generator and get it installed properly as well as the maintenance.

Even making a slow transition to powering your home off the grid is a step in the right direction. If you don’t want to rely on wind energy for certain electricity powered items, you can at least have it for emergency blackouts and natural disasters to keep you and your family surviving.

  2. Wind power is a good source of electricity but it also takes up lots of space just like solar power plants.`:~

  3. Every government should focus more on Alternative Energy so as not to be too dependent on Oil and avoid air pollution as well.:”*
